Totesport has long been recognised as the British Governments betting portal. However, 2011 saw the sale of the company to Betfred who have now taken the company into the 21st century with Totesport offering some of the most competitive odds in the market.
Since Betfred’s purchase of the site what the company has strived to do is keep its roots as a betting ‘pool’ rather than the majority of ‘traditional’ bookmakers on the market. This means the odds they offer on their markets are often more favourable for their punters.
ToteSport is another site that has gone under the knife recently and had a much needed facelift. As one of the oldest bookmakers in the world, it’s always impressive to see companies like ToteSport still look to keep improving and making a better experience for its bettors. Users of the previous issue of their sportsbook would probably agree to say that it lacked a little ‘class’, but the current design changes all that.
Gone is the dated and clunky navigation system that was in place, with its replacement being a beautifully crafted landing page where you can then navigate your way onto which ever sport you want to bet on. Once greeted on your sport of choice you will see the design is very simple, clean and slick, with a lot of white background, which is unusual for many modern day bookmakers. However, ToteSport claim that the design optimises the loading times of the page without sacrificing any qualify; of which we would have to agree.
The horse racing section of ToteSport is probably the best in the world! A bold statement, we know, but it really is simply superb. If we start with market coverage alone then it’s just brilliant. Races are covered up and down the UK and Ireland, but to accompany these are races from around the world including parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. If you are looking to bet on racing around the clock, then this is just ideal.
Probably the standout feature is the depth of their horse racing section. You can find racing promotions, betting guides, radio commentaries of all races in the UK and Ireland, racing facts, expert tips (free), jockey form, trainer form, horse trends, breeding stats, racecourse stats and results….to name but a few! In fact, the site comes with so much racing depth that even if you didn’t gamble on racing but were a keen fan then you could use ToteSport as more of a resource than a betting site.
The in-depth racing section does come with a sacrifice, and that sacrifice is the lack of other sports. There are 19 or so on offer, which isn’t the biggest number itself, but it’s the fact that a lot of the markets aren’t all that well covered. That being said the major ones are all there such as your football, golf, cricket, rugby and tennis, all of which have a decent coverage. Its main plug is for horse racing though, and it covers this like very few bookmakers we have come across.
